Inktober #25 - Sam's Wheelchair Disguise

Merman dares to explore a land-culture that hates his kind. How does he blend in with no legs? By using a wheelchair.

This is Sam pretending to be an elf, which he does for a good bit of the story. Beanie to cover his fin-like ears? Check. Turtle-neck sweater to hide his gills? Check. He's even got shoes positioned where his feet would be if he had them. I imagine this is very uncomfortable for him, having his tail doubled in half the way it must be under that blanket. At least it's effective. This disguise would also only work in the winter time, what with all those heavy clothes. Fortunately for Sam, the story is set in winter. It's actually a major plot point that the setting is during the coldest season. Mermen don't like the cold. Sorry Sam.
